About me

I am a Professor of Digital Humanities, with a focus on Images and digital Objects, in the Department of Digital Humanities and Social Studies at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen–Nürnberg (FAU), Germany.

My research investigates how different worldviews are represented and how audiovisual knowledge circulates and shapes cultural influence across time and space. My current work centres on digitised historical newsreels—short news films screened in cinemas during the twentieth century—and on the development of computational approaches for studying these materials at scale.
